Since I launched my blog 5 years ago with diy heated gloves, much better technology is available to the diyer. When it was time to remake my gloves a couple of years ago, I chose not to because the wiring was annoying.

Trip Report: FZ1OA Octoberfest
October 9 – 11, 2015: FZ1OA Octoberfest
The gatherings with the members of the FZ1OA have started to feel as much like renuions than rally. I often say it's my FZ1 family and the rallys are a family reunion. This one felt more like that than any of the others.

Trip Preview: FZ1OA Octoberfest
October 9 - 11, 2015. I still have to type the report but here are two of the three videos from the weekend. Slow laptop makes video editing more of a chore than it already is.
I left home at the butt crack of dawn to get to TWoS in time for the Friday morning ride. Cruzman helped me get the tent up enough to claim a spot. Then I rushed setting up the cameras using the handlebar and rear rack since it was the easiest.
After a night and morning of rain I wasn't too keen on a long ride. Wet roads and rolling fog made for an interesting run.
Look for one more video from walking around TWoS.

Maintenance: Replacing the chain
9 September 2015: Ride less, wrench more?!
About 2 months after ordering my new chain, I finally put it on. During this year's FZ1OA Rally, I realized babying my current chain to get a few more miles out of it wasn't going to work. It seemed like I'd just put the chain and sprockets on and I wasn't ready to take the $$$ hit so soon.

Product Review: SJ7000/DV603D Action Camera
Action Camera Review
I don't usually do camera reviews because I favor the lower end action cameras that aren't user friendly. As long as it can take jello free video onboard my bike and look decent on YouTube, I like it. If it costs less than $75, I love it!06 August 2015
Trip Report: Once in a Blue Moon
31 July 2015: Dragon Slaying Under A Blue Moon.
As with any trip, it never starts on the day of the trip. This one began at the end of the last trip as I admired Booger's wife when she pulled out of the parking on an inky dark night near the last quarter of the moon to ride the Dragon alone. She said she was going for the peacefullness of it. It was clear that she was way more badass than me.

Trip Report: 2015 FZ1OA Rally
10-14 June 2015: Rally Summary. For this year's rally I thought I'd try to take more pictures and video so I could really document it. That didn't happen. The rally was at a new old location, The Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort. I learned from last year's rally to not get too exiced about seeing my FZ1 family or I'd barely remember it.

Ride Report: On my own
Sunday 24 May 2015, Memorial Day Weekend. I just had to ride. Since it was a holiday weekend, I didn't bother checking with anyone else to see if they were riding. I got off to a bit of a late start but didn't have plans to go too far anyway.

Ride Report: Sweet Home Alabama redux
26 April 2015: Alabama Beauty
Cruzman texted me early in the week asking if I wanted to
ride on Sunday. I said heck yeah since I was already considering a solo ride for the weekend. Earlier in the week I installed a power port for just for the gps. A couple of weeks ago, I finally put the crash bars and rider pegs on. They're not pretty but they work well.

Ride Report: EOW Rally Day 2
Monday, March 17, 2015: Inaugural Blairsville of Winter Rally Day 2.
We planned an earlier start for Day 2, leaving around 8:30 to ride Hwy 68, the Cherohala Skyway, the Tail of the Dragon, and Hwy 28. The early start time meant riding in temps below 50 degrees and using the liners again. Since I was wearing blue jeans beneath the riding pants, I didn't they needed the pant liner. My goal for the day was to be smooth on the bike and to take more pics.

Ride Report: End of Winter Blairsville Rally
15-17 March 2015: Inaugural Blairsville End of Winter Rally.
As soon as I got home from my hour long test ride after installing the Danmoto.com rearsets, I told Cruzman I needed a much longer test to truly get a feel for them. I suggested an overnighter instead of the day ride we had scheduled. Before the weekend, he was asking where we were staying, when we were meeting, what roads we'd be riding.

FZ1 Mod: Rearsets
One thing leads to another. Since I upgraded my suspension, I've noticed how much more aggressive I've become in curves. That aggressiveness comes from greater confidence in the feel of the bike and leads to scraping toes and/or hard parts.
