Georgia Highways:

GEORGIA 5
Begins: Alabama state line, south of Bowden in Carroll County.
Ends: Tennessee state line, at McCaysville in Fannin County.
Total Mileage: About 160 miles.
Freeway Mileage: 30 miles (multiplexed with I-575).
Counties Passed: Carroll, Douglas, Cobb, Cherokee, Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin.
Notes: Highly traveled road.  Good to use as a through-way to US 76 or to Blue Ridge Dr to get to TN 68.
Designations: Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway, from Tennessee State Line to intersection with US 76/GA 2 & 515 at Blue Ridge in Fannin County. The C.F. "Coote" Mason Highway is another name for the same route in Fannin County. The Zell Miller Mountain Parkway, through Pickens and Gilmer Counties. Part of Chieftans Trail, between Ellijay and Canton. The Robert D. "Bob" Tisinger Highway, from intersection with US 27 Alt/GA 16 at Whitesburg to intersection with GA 100 near Alabama State Line in Carroll County.

GEORGIA 9
Begins: US 41 ("Northside Drive"), in Atlanta in Fulton County.
Ends: Intersection of US 19 and US 129 / GA 11, in Lumpkin County.
Total Mileage: About 85 miles.
Counties Passed: Fulton, Forsyth, Dawson, Lumpkin.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 19 through Atlanta and north of Dahlonega.  Good road surface, some traffic, and curvy in some spots toward Dahlonega.
Designations: W.L. "Pug" Mabry Highway, within city of Roswell in Fulton County. The Morrison Moore Highway at Dahlonega in Lumpkin County.

GEORGIA 11
Begins: Florida state line, south of Statenville in Echols County.
Ends: North Carolina state line, north of Ivy Log in Union County.
Total Mileage: About 385 miles.
Counties Passed: Echols, Lanier, Berrien, Irwin, Ben Hill, Wilcox, Pulaski, Houston, Bibb, Jones, Jasper, Newton, Walton, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, White, Lumpkin, Union.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 129 for 139 miles in south Georgia, and 89 miles in north Georgia.  Good road surface through farmland.
Designations: Entire route is the Andrew Jackson Highway. Named Crawford W. Long Highway from Gainesville in Hall County to Jefferson in Jackson County. The Monticello Crossroads Scenic Byway, from Monticello southern city limits north to the Newton County line.

GEORGIA 16
Begins: Intersection with GA 100 south of I-20 in Haralson County.
Ends: Intersection with US 278 at Warrenton in Warren County.
Total Mileage: About 200 miles.
Counties Passed: Haralson, Carroll, Coweta, Spalding, Butts, Jasper, Putnam, Hancock, Warren.
Notes: Good road surface through farmland.

GEORGIA 19
Begins: Intersection with US 1 / GA 4 north of Alma in Bacon County.
Ends: Intersection with US 41, GA 42 and GA 83 at Forsyth in Monroe County.
Total Mileage: About 155 miles.
Counties Passed: Bacon, Jeff Davis, Appling, Jeff Davis, Telfair, Wheeler, Laurens, Wilkinson, Twiggs, Bibb, Monroe.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 80 for about 55 miles.

GEORGIA 20
Begins: Alabama state line west of Rome in Floyd County.
Ends: Intersection of US 19/41 and GA 3 near Hampton in Henry County.
Total Mileage: About 175 miles.
Freeway Mileage: About 2 miles multiplexed with I-575, from exits 8 to 10.
Counties Passed: Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Walton, Rockdale, Newton, Henry.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 411 between Rome and Cartersville. Makes loop from northwest of Atlanta around the north, east, and into the south side.


GEORGIA 22
Begins: Alabama state line at the Chattahoochee River, at Columbus in Muscogee County.
Ends: Intersection with GA 72 at Comer in Madison County.
Total Mileage: About 224 miles.
Freeway Mileage: About 10 miles in North Columbus (J.R. Allen Parkway).
Counties Passed: Muscogee, Talbot, Taylor, Upson, Crawford, Bibb, Jones, Baldwin, Hancock, Taliaferro, Oglethorpe, Madison.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 80 between Columbus and Macon. From Columbus to Geneva, at the GA 96 intersection, GA 22 and US 80 are part of the future Fall Line Freeway.

GEORGIA 23
Begins: Florida state line at the St. Mary's River in Charlton County.
Ends: Intersection with GA 56 northeast of Waynesboro in Burke County.
Total Mileage: About 237 miles.
Counties Passed: Charlton, Brantley, Wayne, Long, Tattnall, Candler, Emanuel, Jenkins, Burke.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 301 for about 87 miles.

GEORGIA 24
Begins: Intersection with US 80 / GA 26 at Statesboro in Bulloch County.
Ends: Intersection of US 441 / 129 and GA 53 / 24 Business Route, at Watkinsville in Oconee County.
Total Mileage: 220 miles.
Counties Passed: Bulloch, Screven, Burke, Jefferson, Washington, Baldwin, Putnam, Morgan, Oconee.
Notes: GA 24 west of Sandersville, and a small part of GA 24 around Sandersville, are part of the future Fall Line Freeway. GA 24 Business Route follows old GA 24 route through Watkinsville, while new road bypasses it.

GEORGIA 28
Begins: (1) South Carolina state line at the Savannah River, at Augusta in Richmond County; (2) South Carolina state line south of Pine Mountain in Rabun County.
Ends: (1) South Carolina state line at the Savannah River in Columbia County; (2) North Carolina state line north of Pine Mountain in Rabun County.
Total Mileage: 26 miles (18 on southern stretch, 8 on northern side).
Freeway Mileage: None.
Counties Passed: Richmond, Columbia, Rabun.
Notes: This route enters and leaves Georgia twice. The South Carolina and North Carolina sections of this highway are also numbered 28.

GEORGIA 36
Begins: Intersection with GA 208 east of Waverly Hall near Talbot / Harris County line.
Ends: Intersection with US 278 / GA 12 and GA 81 at Covington in Newton County.
Total Mileage: 104 miles. 
Counties Passed: Harris, Talbot, Upson. Lamar, Butts, Newton.
Notes:

GEORGIA 42
Begins: Intersection with GA 49 at Byron in Peach County.
Ends: Intersection with GA 13 (Buford Highway) in DeKalb County.
Total Mileage: 120 miles.
Counties Passed: Peach, Crawford, Monroe, Butts, Henry, Clayton, DeKalb.
Notes: Multiplexed with US 23 for 52 miles. About 5 miles of GA 42 run along border of DeKalb and Fulton Counties. GA 42 across Henry County is the Raymond G. Davis Medal of Honor Highway. In Peach County, from GA 49 west to the US Post Office in Byron, GA 42 is the Richard B. Ray Parkway.

GEORGIA 48
Begins: Alabama state line west of Cloudland in Chattooga County.
Ends: Intersection with US 27 / GA 1 at Summerville in hattooga County.
Total Mileage: 12 miles.
Counties Passed: Chattooga.
Notes: In Chattooga County, from its beginning in Summerville to intersection with GA 157, this route is the Juliette Gordon Lowe Highway.

GEORGIA 52
Begins: Intersection with I-75, exit 136 at Dalton in Whitfield County.
Ends: Intersection with GA 98 at Maysville in Jackson County.
Total Mileage: About 123 miles.
Counties Passed: Whitfield, Murray, Gilmer, Dawson, Lumpkin, Hall, Jackson.
Notes: GA 52 Alternate from Spring Place to Chatsworth (Murray County) and GA 52 from Chatsworth to Ellijay (Gilmer County) are part of the Chieftans Trail. From GA 61/US 411 in Chatsworth to the Gilmer County line it's the Woody Glenn Highway. In Whitfield County, from Interstate 75 east to the Murray County line, it is the Harry Leon Simpson Parkway. Through Dahlonega (Lumpkin County), GA 52 is part of the Morrison Moore Highway. From GA 515/US 76 at Ellijay (Gilmer County) to GA 61/US 411 in Murray County, GA 52 is part of the Southern Highroads Scenic Highway. Part of GA 52 Alternate in Murray County is also named the Clarence Riddle Highway. GA 52 Connector in Whitfield County is the Admiral Mack Gaston Parkway.

GEORGIA 53
Begins: Alabama state line at Floyd/Polk County line.
Ends: Intersection with GA 15 at Watkinsville in Oconee County.

Notes: Multiplexed with US 441 for about 20 miles. Entire route designated the Sam Tate Highway. GA 53 from Calhoun (Gordon County) to Rome (Floyd County) and GA 53 Spur in Gordon County are part of the Chieftans Trail. The GA 53 Connector in Hall County is designated the John W. Morrow, Jr. Parkway.

GEORGIA 60
Begins: Intersection with GA 124 east of Braselton in Jackson County.
Ends: Intersection with GA 5 at McCaysville in Fannin County.
Total Mileage: About 88 miles.

GEORGIA 84
Begins: Intersection with US 78 / GA 10 east of Snellville in Gwinnett County.  Red light camera at intersection.

Notes:  Turns into Grayson-New Hope Rd after passing GA 20.  Name changes again to Bramlett Road after passing New Hope Road.  Name changes again to Rock House Rd.  Quicker way to get to GA 316 from Snellville/Grayson area.  Passes through many neighborhoods.  Not too much traffic.  Curvy road but not tight curves.

GEORGIA 85
Begins: Intersection with US 27 / GA 1 in Columbus in Muscogee County.
Ends: Intersection with Interstate 75, exit 80, in Clayton County.
Total Mileage: 97 miles.
Freeway Mileage: 11 miles in Muscogee and Harris Counties, multiplexed with US 27 Alt.
